You will stay in the ideal area of the city where to find restaurants, bars, theatres. The special place to have fun! We are in Santa Croce and Duomo area, where gourmet restaurants will let you taste real local food and wine. We will be very happy to assist you in planning a special dinner.

Rexcafè, a very famous cafè in central Florence, is the closest to our bed and breakfast, right in Via Fiesolana, where we are.

Via de' Benci, next to Santa Croce Square, is full of cafés, pubs, restaurants. It is one of the liveliest streets in Florence, always crowded by young people, students from abroad as well as locals.

Starting from the street where Casa Rovai is to Sant'Ambrogio (famous for its food market), you will have a large choice of cafés for your evening “aperitivo” (cocktail): try Plaza Cafè in front of the Flea Market in Ciompi Square, or the Caffè Sant'Ambrogio, or else the elegant Caffè Cibrèo, with its delicious cakes. The extravagant Teatro del Sale, in front of the Caffè Cibreò, will take you to a journey to taste marvellous food and listen to tango, acoustic music or comedies.

When the warm season approaches, a lot of squares turn into open areas for live music and shows. Ghiberti Square, with its Las Palmas, from June to September, is one of these places, five minute walking distance from our b&b.

If you are looking for a charming night in Florence, we will strongly suggest you have a walk at night to Piazzale Michelangelo, up on a hill that dominates the whole city and gives you an enchanting view of Florence, its river and its magnificent monuments and palaces. The Piazzale is reachable in only 20 minutes from our bed and breakfast.

The two main theatres are right next to B&B Casa Rovai. They are the Teatro Verdi and the Teatro della Pergola. Besides from the theatre season, they also offer chamber music, rock concerts and dance shows.

Have you ever thought about having dinner in an old cave listening to good live jazz? Cantina Barbagianni will do that for you! It is a fine restaurant very close to our bed & breakfast, with delicious menu, including a very good selection of wines. Jazz sessions on Tuesdays.

And for those who can never quit shopping... do not worry at all! Santa Croce area is the ideal place for you, a lot of original small craftsmen shops, handmade accessories, jewels and a lot more...

The most famous brands (Gucci, Ferragamo, Prada, Valentino, Versace, Pomellato, Cavalli) are all in Via Tornabuoni and Via della Vigna Nuova, in the city center (a ten minute walk from Casa Rovai).

Should you wish to have a full day tour shopping at more reasonable price, you could visit two of the main Tuscan Fashion Outlets: one in Barberino del Mugello and one in Incisa Valdarno. Of course, we will help you with bus timetable and any detail on opening time and special offers.
