Our bed&breakfast, located in the neighborhood of Santa Croce, in the heart of the historical center, offers facilities and service for a comfortable stay, as well as tips on visits to discover the center of Florence and the hills and cities of Tuscany, excellent restaurants, boutiques, fashion outlets, theatres, pubs and cafés!
Assistance provided to our guests is worth a hotel's.
Accomodation in charming and large rooms where to stay in relax in a wonderful apartment in an ancient building centrally located, a few steps from the main museums, next to Santa Croce Church, Antiques Market in Ciompi Square, the Duomo and the Uffizi.

• We can reserve lunch or dinner in restaurants with fantastic Tuscan food, Italian pizza and pasta, but also excellent nouvelle cuisine and light lunch (due to agreements between our bed and breakfast and some restaurants).

MAGGIO MUSICALE FIORENTINO.
It will show Bizet-Schedrin - Carmen Suite, Musorgskij- Ravel - Pictures at an Exposition, March 28 and 30.
Concerts at English Church of St.Mark's, downtown, a few minutes walk from oue guest house, near the Ponte Vecchio.
Theatres: two of the main theatres are just a few steps away from our b&b: the TEATRO VERDI and the TEATRO DELLA PERGOLA offer ballet, theatre, classical music, chamber music, pop music. We can reserve tickets for you!

A DIFFERENT BEAUTY. FRANCESCO FURINI.
a marvellous exhibition on an artist of the Florentine seventeenth century: Francesco Furini (Florence, 1603-1646), who elaborated a unique form of classicist ‘beauty’ which he mainly expressed in the female nude. The exhibition runs in the Museo degli Argenti, Palazzo Pitti until April, 27, 2008
FATTORI AND NATURALISM IN TUSCANY
A first exhibition to celebrate Giovanni Fattori, the most famous of the Macchiaioli painters, 100 years after his death, in the splendid Villa Bardini, on the "other side of the river Arno". Until June 23rd. Easily reachable from our bed and breakfast.
PALAZZO STROZZI holds several contemporary art exhibitions. The present exhibition is China: at the Court of the Emperors, until June 8, 2008. Splendid frescoes, spectacular stone sculptures, exquisite gold and silver objects, precious ceramics, vivacious terracotta statues, exotic glass, refined jewels, precious lacquers will be on show, many of which have never been seen before in the West.
The monthly event for who likes organic food, natural remedies is the FIERUCOLA, taking place in the beautiful Piazza Santa Spirito on the other side of the river Arno. Next market: April 20th.

Art, Museums and Cult Places
Florence offers permanent or temporary exhibitions in its numerous museums:
The Museo di San Marco is now showing the exhibition "Fra Giovanni Angelico. A painter-miniaturist or a miniaturist-painter?". Beato Angelico, the monk who painted the frescoes in the Monastery of San Marco is the central figure in an exhibition in Florence. His background as a miniaturist is on show at the Museo di San Marco from 20 December to 29 March. from 8.15-13.50, on Saturdays until 18.50.
Closed on the second and fourth Mondays of the month. Entrance fee € 7,00.
The MUSEO NAZIONALE DEL BARGELLO, five minutes walking from Casa Rovai bed & breakfast, has a remarkable collection of Renaissance sculptures, including masterpieces by Donatello, Luca della Robbia, Verrocchio, Michelangelo and Cellini.
The MUSEO DELL'OPERA DEL DUOMO, (3 minutes walking from our house) which shows the magnificent works to build Santa Maria del Fiore Church
Just a few steps away from Casa Rovai you can admire the beautiful Perugino Fresco, a less known work from the XVIth century painter.
A few miles from the city centre, easily reachable by bus, we mark the marvellous CENACOLO ANDREA DEL SARTO which has Andrea Del Sarto's masterpiece, from the beginning of XVIth century.
The MUSEO DEI RAGAZZI in PALAZZO VECCHIO and other Florence museums and churches particularly suitable for children.
The MEDICI CHAPELS in the beautiful San Lorenzo Church. The Medicis were buried in this Chapels from the XVth century. On Sept. 14th and 15th, a marvellous video will be projected on the church, showing Michelangelo's design for San Lorenzo.
The BRANCACCI CHAPEL is located in the Carmine Church, on the other side of the river Arno. Here you can admire the marvellous fresco "Expulsion from the Garden of Eden" by Masaccio.
The Jewish Synagogue and Museum are very closed from the bed and breakfast, five minutes walking.
The city of art also offers the visitors some important science museums. You can visit here the SCIENCE HISTORY MUSEUM, that will be holding an exhibition on Galileo’s telescope and the observations he made with it (from March 4th until December 31st);
and the FRATELLI ALINARI photography museum located in Santa Maria Novella Square. Now showing Stars On Stage. Stars and myths in the pictures of Sam Shaw and Larry Shaw, until March 25th.
The PLANETARIO: workshops, open lessons, multimedia hall.
The OPIFICIO DELLE PIETRE DURE collects the best of the refined creations in semi-precious stones. The Opificio was founded in 1588 by the Medici.
10 km off the city centre, discover a fascinating delightful place: PRATOLINO PARK and the VILLA DEMIDOFF, a romantic park enriched with artwork such as the huge Colossus of the Apennines by sculptor Giambologna.
