Casa Rovai PHOTO GALLERY

Welcome to our photogallery: a selection of photos taken throughout our neighbourhood and Florence's historical city center. You will find images of the main churches, monuments, and markets that adorn these historical renaissance streets. You may especially browse the photos of our bedrooms and facilities here at Casa Rovai Guest House.

Our B&B is located in the heart of Florence in a large, quiet apartment located on the first floor of an historical palace (no elevator) in the neighborhood of San Pier Maggiore. Our rooms are large and quiet, as no window faces the street. The frescoes decorating the rooms date back to the XVIth century and are accompanied by original 19th and 20th century furniture. We have a charming terrace just off of our lounge where we invite our guests to relax. In the breakfast room you will also find an internet corner with two computers at our guests' disposal.

Dante supposedly began his famous journey to Fiesole from our location, hence our street's name Via Fiesolana. The property is just a few steps away from the Duomo (the main Cathedral), the beautiful church of Santa Croce (with its stunningly frescoed Cappella dei Pazzi), the Synagogue, the Uffizi Museum, and the Accademia Gallery. Not to mention the many boutiques, restaurants, cafés and markets within five minutes walking distance.

We are located two steps away from Florence's main theatres: La Pergola and Teatro Verdi. Around the corner, Ciompi Square hosts the antiques market that is open every last Sunday of the month. In nearby Ghiberti Square you will find the "Mercato di Sant'Ambrogio", a 19th century food market where you can thrill all of your five senses!

Near the above mentioned market, one can find excellent cafés and restaurants with extraordinary authentic Tuscan food.

The church of San Miniato al Monte that rises above the famous panoramic view point of Piazzale Michelangelo, is a magnificent Romanesque church uniquely built on several levels that gracefully ascend the hill top. A wonderful walk that that takes you through grotto-filled tuscan gardens, it takes only thirty minutes on foot from our B&B to the peek of San Miniato!
