New York Times New York Times, travel guide It was our honeymoon trip in Italy. On the way from Venice to Rome, we stayed two night in Florence...too short stay!. I had been searching for a nice place to stay then I found a hidden gem B&B, Casa Rovai. It was such a very nice place, located in the historical center. Not only charming accommodation but also the host "Arianna". She gave us many interesting info about Florence (including local restaurant and parking) The breakfast was gorgeous. I really hope to be able to come back!

New York Times New York Times, travel guide My wife and I had a great experience at Casa Rovai in Florence. We received great recommendations from Tiziana for places to eat and things to see. Our winery tour and cooking class in the Chianti region was set up by Tiziana. What a great experience that was! Our rooms were not fancy but very clean, comfortable and very Italian. The location of Casa Rovai is great - close enough to be able to walk to just about everything, but not in the middle of the crowds. We have recommended this guest house to friends and will definitely stay there when we return.

New York Times, travel guide New York Times I would like to say that the Casa Rovai Guest House was a great pick for our stay in Florence. My boyfriend and i enjoyed it so much that when we return to Florence we will stay there again. Our room was very nice and clean. Very comfortable in size, not small at all. The services, and breakfast was wonderful. Anna was a great help in any question or concerns we had, she was awesome we both loved her. The location is centraly located to a lot of interesting things to visit in Florence.

New York anonimous BY TRIPADVISOR:
My boyfriend and I stayed here this passed August. We had read wonderful things about Casa Rovai on Trip, and had never been to Italy before! When we first arrived, we were somewhat surprised by the modest exterior. Upon entering we were greeted by a beautiful 15th century home a the top of a short flight of stairs. Tastefully decorated, and impeccably clean! The receptionist was warm, smiley, and extremely helpful with her suggestions! She gave us great tips that contributed to an amazing first-time experience. Plus, the central location made it easy to walk to all of the main sights without getting lost!! So important for us first-timers! We will definitely be back! Also...fantastic homemade breakfast cakes! Grazie casa rovai!!

Cape Town, South Africa Mark Casa Rovai was perfect for our trip-it was centrally located but in an area full of tourists. The room and bathroom (down the hall but private) were exactly what I expected and as advertised; they were well appointed and tasteful, clean, and no bigger than necessary but plenty ample. The best asset is the staff, very welcoming and eager to help in any way possible, be it restaurant recommendations or bookings for museums. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

San Francisco, California Bill & Sioux BY TRIPADVISOR:
First-time visitors to Florence, we loved our 11-night stay at Casa Rovai. The guest house was attractive (with fresco angels on the bedroom ceiling), comfortable, and located within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Anna and Veronica helped us with reservations at galleries and restaurants, and with booking travel for a side-trip to Venice. The wifi was useful, and we enjoyed meeting other travelers in the breakfast room. We will definitely come back!

I stayed in a single room for 4 nights and I realy enjoy this lovely and cozy place. The brakfast was exactly in the right amount to start the day, thu, I was perfering to drink my coffe in the city. It's a small guest house with very nice people in a great location. The rooms are decorated in a very nice and minimalist traditional style. Veronica help me alot with buses and trains, which are not so easy to understand.
I had a great time in Firenze and especialy because of his place. I felt like it's my home. hope to come back again and surely I will recomend this place.

California Anny49 We got absolutely great service, very caring and personal, and loved both rooms we stayed in (before and after touring other places in Tuscany). Air-conditioning as smooth as silk, bathrooms impeccably clean, great variety for breakfast... and the location! Step out the door, around the corner, and there is the Duomo! We'll be back for sure.

Boston, USA lifeorlife Having traveled throughout Europe in the past weeks, I can say without hesitation that this is has been our warmest and more confortable stay.
My wife and I arrived at Casa Rovai and met Arianna. She provided us a friendly greeting and sat us down and explained how the B&B was run. She also provided us a map of Florence and highlighted the attractions in the city and how to get ther . In addion, she provided directions to several nearby trattoria (restautants) that he recommended and guaranteed as good quality real Italian food and told us how much we were going to spend more or less to avoid surprice ....
She dedicated us her time with no hurry! She then provided us with her personal cell phone number in the event we needed any help.
The rooms are elegant and the bed are extremely comfortable: and my back appreciate this very much! The entire apartment is impeccably clean.
Each morning Beatrice cooked a fantastic breakfast with differents cakes: the chocolate one was my favorite and I've been able to get the recipe before leaving!
The location of this hotel is quite amazing: you really are 5 minutes walking from Piazza Duomo and Uffizi
Thanks for everything Arianna and Beatrice, all

Amsterdam Sylvia We greatly enjoyed both the rooms and the hospitality at Casa Rovai!
The rooms are breathtakingly restorated, with frescoes and original ceilings, and follow the original plan of a Florentine city center appartment. The location on the backside of the building guarantees a perfectly quiet night in the very center of the city, a five minutes' walk from the Piazza della Signoria and the Duomo.
The service was superb, with exactly the right pointers for lunch, dinner and things to do.
We also enjoyed the breakfeast buffet with a view on the inner courtyard

London farblens Casa Rovai offers clean, comfortable, spacious room and top notch hospitality in the heart of Florence. We enjoyed 4 nights stay here during the Easter weekend and had a fabulous time. Arianna is a wealth of knowledge and was very helpful, offering to book museums and make dinner reservations for us, which was essential on a busy holiday weekend. We loved her recommendations and her hospitality. The location is perfect- very central, but just slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist attractions, which means there are great restaurants in the area that are slightly less touristy and you can get a nice, quiet rest! A fabulous find, and good value in Florence. Highly recommended.

Ireland belfastwoman I recently stayed with friends at Casa Rovai in Firenze. It is wonderfully located very close to the Duomo and to all the major sites. It has only 6 rooms each individually decorated beautifully in keeping with the spirit of the building. The price includes breakfast and the little sitting room and the breakfast room are both lovely. The bedrooms are all well equipped with comfortable beds.
Arianna who looks after bookings and is there most of the time is a mine of information and is happy to make reservations for dining and for galleries or find any info you require. As a result you get to eat in places that you would not normally as a tourist come across - all of her recommendations to us were great.
I would have no hesitation recommending Casa Rovai highly to anyone and I hope to return soon again.

Cape Town cathbags I visited Florence with my mother, aunt and sister in January. Throughout our three day stay, we found the service excellent. The staff were very friendly and engageing and took an interest in our visit. They were very knowledgable about the area and were also able to give us a list of resturantes that were off the main tourist drag and so perhaps more authentic. The rooms were very comfortable and immaculate, with beautiful frescos on some walls/ ceilings. In our case, we had two interleading rooms which is ideal for families (espectially with young children). Casa Rovai is very central and just 15min walk from the station. Attractions such as the Uffizi, Santa Croce and Duomo are all within a 10min walking distance. Florence is a really magical city, with so many things to experience. Three days just wasn't long enough!

USA Annelise Casa Rovai was our house in Florence with my husband and child. We throughly enjoyed it! We stayed in a large family room with very comfortable beds, it felt like we were home. Very quiet place in the middle of the city center. Excellent suggestions on restaurants given by the hostess. I wish we spent there more days, it was just a couple of days but we will definitely choose Casa Rovai again!!

Baltimore Ondina5 I am a seasoned traveler and have visited Europe on several occasions. But this is definitely the most unforgettable experience. Staying in a world-renown city like Florence is always a wonderful but can often feel cliche and not genuine. But the hospitality at Casa Rovai made the experience so much more authentic. Anna (the wonderful hostess) always gave the best advice on what sights to see when and what restaurants to visit. Eating breakfast on the terrace in the morning was the best way to start the day. The service was always impeccable. The location of course was of course optimal for all the sightseeing I wanted to experience. Staying at Casa Rovai really gave me the impression of being with family rather than being a tourist. Anna's hospitality and the homey feeling of the B&B itself completely eliminated the impersonal aspect of being a tourist. Next time I go to Florence (and after this experience you better believe I will!) I'm definitely going to Casa Rovai.

Los Angeles, California StuAArt We wanted a place that was centrally located in Florence that was also reasonably priced and comfortable. We were not disappointed.
We did the walk from the train station in about 15 minutes. Arianna met us when we arrived and gave us suggestions on sights to see and local restaurants. The room was quiet and comfortable and we were even provided a hair dryer to use.
The breakfast was good and the staff was excellent. We would definitely return to Casa Rovai for a future visit to Florence.

Boston Dana Perfect location, rooms with the necessary amenities, reasonably priced for the room & breakfast. Arianna was extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions, unique places to see beyond the obvious, and is a delightful person. Her fluency in many languages is a huge plus for travelers! Enjoy!

New York Annamaria Pizzuti My daughter, my sister and I stayed at Casa Rovai on a trip in April 2007. We found it a lovely place and will
stray there again on our next visit. Having read the other reviews, I share the same feelings expressed by the other guests. Arianna and Beatrice were charming and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable

England Simone Naomi Anderson My first encounter with Casa Rovai began with a visit to their website. I was attracted to the Italian deco and the ease through which I could navigate my way around the site. I then contacted Casa Rovai and was greeted by Arianna who had shown great communication and was able to respond very quickly to emails, queries or any questions I had.
Upon arrival I received a very warm welcome from Beatrice who showed me to my room (I loved the room I stayed in - La Lira. For a single room it was spacious, airy and comfortable #1. Loved the frescoes deco. #2. Great mattress!!) I was guided around the facility, given a map of Florence and recommended some really good places to eat! This was great because I was travelling alone and worried about where I'd eat and feel comfortable, but Beatrice ironed this all out for me.
Casa Rovai is a great place to stay because it’s great value, it is located in the heart of Florence (about a 10 minute walk from the Dome), and is very quiet and serene. It is also a great place to stay because of the warm atmosphere that is generated by the owners and the staff, which seem to filter out amongst the guests that stay there. I am pleased to say that I have made friends as a result of my stay at Casa Rovai. I was travelling alone - so making friends was an important part of my experience in Florence. It’s at 10 out of 10 for me ;-)
